Holiday Tree Express at Thrive City Supports Over 200 Bay Area Families In Need

Monday December 7, 2020

As part of the Warriors Season of Giving initiative, the Warriors hosted a Holiday Tree Express at Thrive City to support over 200 families in need from HOPE SF, Mercy Housing and Chinatown Community Development Center. In a socially distanced and COVID-19 friendly way, families stopped by to pick up a Christmas tree along with ornaments, lights, garlands, photo ops, and more at Thrive City.

Families were assigned a specific time slot throughout the day, allowing them to spend their time comfortably picking a tree of their choice followed by heartwarming activations including decoration giveaways, photo ops, live gingerbread house demos and kits to take home. In addition to the activations, Warriors forward Eric Paschall made a special appearance on Thrive City’s large outdoor video board wishing families happy holidays, to stay safe, and to enjoy their Christmas trees.

Additionally, families who did not have vehicles had nothing to worry about, thanks to a locally-owned Chase small business client, Ahmed’s Moving Express, who supported families by delivering Christmas trees to their homes.
