Golden State Warriors Win Two Northern California EMMY Awards

The Golden State Warriors won two San Francisco/Northern California EMMY Awards on June 3, awarded by the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the 52nd Annual Northern California Area EMMY Awards. The awards ceremony was held at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square. The team was nominated for nine EMMY Awards in six categories, the most nominations among professional sports teams in the Bay Area.

The EMMY Awards won by the Warriors include:

  • One award in the “Public Service Announcement” category for ‘Uplifting the Next,’ in which activist and GRAMMY®-nominated artist Ryan Nicole details the importance of celebrating Black History beyond the 28 days of February and uplifting the next generation.
  • One award in the “Promotion – Sports” category for ‘Golden Moment.’ ‘Golden Moment’ features America’s Got Talent winner Brandon Leake reciting a spoken word piece for Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals.
A total of 342 Emmy statues were handed out to 244 individuals. The Warriors were nominated for six additional videos in the Sports Story-Short or Long Form Content, Sports Program-Live or Post Produced, Promotion-Sports, and Commercial categories. Warriors lead videographer Tom Frenette was also nominated for an award in the Photographer-Content category.

On May 23, the Warriors won 21 TELLY Awards, including four gold, 13 silver, and four bronze, across 11 categories. The Tellys annually showcase work created in video, television, production, advertising, and publishing across five continents. This year there was a record breaking 13,000 entries with the Warriors being one of the most prominent global brands to win multiple awards.
