Chase Center And Thrive City To Celebrate Five-Year Anniversary

Chase Center and Thrive City, the district surrounding Chase Center, will begin celebrations for their fifth anniversary beginning today that will run throughout the month of September and beyond. Today marks five years since the venue’s ribbon cutting ceremony on September 3, 2019.

Since opening in 2019, Chase Center has welcomed more than 4.8 million guests at nearly 400 diverse events across sports, music, comedy, theater, family entertainment, and more. Chase Center’s inaugural event, Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony, took place on September 6, 2019, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their Grammy Award-Winning “Symphony and Metallica” (S&M) album. On October 24, 2019, the Warriors hosted their first regular season home game at Chase Center against the LA Clippers. The Warriors concluded the 2023-24 regular season with 518 consecutive sellouts, 175 of which have taken place at Chase Center, the third-longest active streak in the NBA and the sixth-longest streak in NBA history.

Additional marquee events held at Chase Center over the last five years include the 2022 NBA Finals, the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball West Regionals and the 2022 League of Legends World Championship Finals. In 2020, Chase Center was named Sports Business Journal’s Sports Facility of the Year.

Thrive City, in collaboration with Kaiser Permanente, has hosted nearly 200,000 guests at more than 450 events centered around health and wellness, arts and culture, sports and entertainment, and civic engagement since 2019. Signature Thrive City events include an annual Easter Egg Hunt, Thrill-o-Ween, Winter Wonderland, and more. To date, the highest-attended Thrive City events include the Winter Wonderland Holiday Spectacular on December 18, 2021 (7,508 guests) and a Warriors Watch Party for the 2022 Western Conference Semifinals on May 3, 2022 (6,683 guests).

In addition, Thrive City houses over a dozen retail locations including Chase Bank, Cupcakin’ Bake Shop, Dumpling Time, Gott’s Roadside, Harmonic Brewing, Miller & Lux, GluGlu, Misalignment Museum, Philz Coffee and Warriors Shop. Previously announced retailers Baked Bear, Che Fico Pizzeria, Fikscue Craft Barbecue, Kayah, and Señor Sisig are set to open in the coming months.

Fans are invited to a Fifth Anniversary Block Party, presented by Kaiser Permanente, at Thrive City on Sunday, September 8, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The event will feature a host of family-friendly activities and performances throughout the plaza, and guests will have the opportunity to experience a “Taste of Thrive City” through samplings from Thrive City retailers.

Throughout September, Chase Center will celebrate its fifth anniversary during the venue’s diverse selection of shows and events through special food and beverage offerings including a five-piece macaron pack, The GOAT Five-Year Slice, and a Chase Center Sunset Punch cocktail. Additionally, as part of the Chase Center Art Collection, presented by Adobe, 55 signed posters from artists who have performed at the venue over the past five years will be installed at Portals 20 and 24.

Beyond September, the Warriors and San Francisco Bay Area will host NBA All-Star 2025, with the 74th NBA All-Star Game taking place at Chase Center on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Additionally, Chase Center will host the 2025 Division I Men’s Basketball Championship West Regionals in March 2025 and the Laver Cup in September 2025. In May 2025, the Golden State Valkyries will tip off their inaugural season at Chase Center.
