Thrive City Announces Addition of Fikscue Craft Barbecue

Friday, August 16, 2024

Thrive City has announced the addition of Fikscue Craft Barbecue (pronounced Fix-Cue), an Indonesian-Texas restaurant by husband-wife duo Fik and Reka Saleh. With their distinct creation of halal Texas Barbecue with Indonesian flavors, Fikscue Craft Barbecue is slated to open early 2025 and will feature a variety of dishes highlighting this combination of cultures, such as Texas-style smoked brisket, dino ribs, and beef back ribs, along with other Indonesian fusion dishes.

Fikscue Craft Barbecue will be located on Thrive City’s Esplanade, next to Harmonic Brewing. Restaurant hours will be announced at a later date.

“In honor of Indonesian Independence Day tomorrow, we are proud to announce that we will open a new location at Thrive City,” said Fikscue Craft Barbecue founder and creator Fik Saleh. “Our country’s motto is Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, meaning ‘unity in diversity,’ and we’re excited to continue our mission in bringing diversity to Thrive City by bridging two different food cultures through hospitality and craft.”

With cozy indoor seating and shared outdoor seating with Harmonic Brewing, Fikscue Craft Barbecue’s interior will take on an industrial aesthetic with hints of Indonesian arts and patterns showcased throughout the space. Large televisions and grab ‘n’ go food service will make it ideal for a post-event bite or a game-day experience.

Fikscue Craft Barbecue is an innovator in the barbecue scene, having opened a pop-up business in 2020 before serving their Indo-Tex dishes from their current brick-and-mortar restaurant in Alameda that opened in 2023.

Current Thrive City retailers include Chase Bank, Cupcakin’ Bake Shop, Dumpling Time, Gott’s Roadside, Harmonic Brewing, Miller & Lux, GluGlu, Misalignment Museum, Philz Coffee and Warriors Shop. New retailers Che Fico Pizzeria, Kayah, and Senor Sisig are set to open in late 2024. Additional retailers will be announced at a later date. For more information, please visit thrivecity.com.
