Thrive City Announces Addition of Taco Primo
Thrive City has announced the upcoming addition of Taco Primo from the team behind popular cocktail bar The Snug. Taco Primo is a modern, fast-casual Cali-Mex taco concept inspired by old-school cooking techniques and the blend of Latino & American cultures in the Bay Area.
Taco Primo will be located in Thrive City’s Esplanade next to Generation Thrive and across from Harmonic Brewing. The restaurant is slated to open early 2025, operating seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
With its menu ranging from healthy salads to decadent burritos, Taco Primo is a perfect option for anything from a quick lunch to post-game meal. The menu will also feature four slow-cooked proteins: chicken, al pastor, suadero, and braised jackfruit, seasoned with a signature “primo spice blend.” The signature salsas–salsa taquera, roasted tomatillo, and habanero–are all made in-house daily, and guests can add cheese, sour cream, and house-made guacamole to make any item “primo.”
“Thrive City has such a vibrant community of fans, food lovers, and fellow retailers,” said Liv Ringo, co-owner of Taco Primo. “We’ve wanted to launch a concept like Taco Primo for a while, and to share it with the world at such an iconic San Francisco venue is a dream come true.”
Taco Primo is the latest addition to the team that owns and runs San Francisco’s The Snug, Pacific Heights’ innovative cocktail bar, and little shucker, an oyster and wine bar situated on Fillmore Street and featured in the New York Times’ “The 25 Best Restaurants in San Francisco Right Now” list in 2023 and 2024. Starting Monday, December 9, Taco Primo will launch as a pop-up at The Snug prior to its opening at Thrive City.
