Thrive City Draws Capacity Crowd For Soccer Watch Party

Thrive City welcomed a capacity crowd, tonight, Thursday, June 18, as fans gathered to watch Mexico take on South Korea during this summer’s international soccer tournament. The turnout matched attendance levels seen at recent Golden State Warriors and Valkyries watch parties, as fans continue to gather at Thrive City for major sporting and entertainment events.

The event featured a Team Mexico fan march from Pier 43 led by a marching band and spirit leaders before fans filled the plaza to watch the match on the largest outdoor video board in San Francisco. 

“It’s been exciting to see fans representing countries from around the world gather at Thrive City throughout the tournament,” said Donna Daniels, General Manager, Chase Center. “From the cheers throughout the plaza to the full restaurant patios, the watch party showcased the excitement and community that make these shared viewing experiences so special. We look forward to welcoming fans back for additional match viewings throughout the tournament, and all ThriveCity events.”

Thrive City also attracted a capacity crowd on Friday, June 12, to watch Team USA’s 4-1 win over Paraguay. The event featured a fan march from Crane Cove Park, led by Bay FC co-founder and former U.S. Women’s National Team player Leslie Osborne, before fans filled the plaza to watch the match.

Due to strong fan interest, Thrive City has expanded its tournament programming and will host match viewings on all non-event days through July 19. Lawn chairs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for all viewings. Fans are encouraged to RSVP at chasecenter.com/soccer-viewings-and-watch-parties-2026/.
