Casey Gray

Casey Grayʼs love of California has been an underlying subject of his work throughout his career. He works primarily as a painter and occasionally in printmaking, illustration and site-specific murals. His work examines our collective relationship to common objects and symbols, and their ability to hold meaning, tell stories and build identity. He draws everything by hand with pencil and painstakingly cuts it out with a utility knife, painting layer by layer rendering objects and adding depth until the image is complete. Gray graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2010 with an MFA, and has produced 10 solo exhibitions to high acclaim.
