Benito was born in Michoacán, Mexico in 1970, but his early years in Chicago formed his artistic career. He attended Lake Forest College, in Lake Forest, IL, where he received a BA with a concentration in Printmaking. After graduation, he studied in Paris and Madrid, and completed a residency at The Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice that ultimately influenced his outlook on the world. In 1999, Benito returned to the U.S. to become a full-time artist. Since then, Benito has developed his artistic vocabulary by continuing to attend Fine Art workshops to maintain and improve his artistic technique.
