Know Before You Go: NCAA Men's Basketball Championship West Regional - Sweet 16

Monday March 21, 2022

For the first time since the inaugural NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in 1939, March Madness is coming to San Francisco. The Tournament action at Chase Center tips off with the top four seeds from the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship West Regional on Thursday, March 24. No. 1 seed Gonzaga plays No. 4 seed Arkansas at 4:09 p.m. and at 6:39 p.m., No. 3 seed Texas Tech will play No. 4-seed Duke. The winners of these two Thursday games will advance to face each other on Saturday, March, 26, with the winner of that moving on to the Final Four. Here's what you need to know prior to coming to Thursday's games.

The Basics:

Event Start Time
First Game Starts: 4:09 p.m.
Arena Doors Open: 2:30 p.m.

Entry Requirements
In accordance with the San Francisco Department of Public Health mandate, fans attending events at Chase Center are required to show proof of either (a) up-to-date Vaccination, OR (b) a negative COVID-19 Test, taken within 24 hours (for antigen tests) or 48 hours (for PCR tests). In accordance with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, “Up-to-date vaccination” means two weeks removed from the final dose of a CDC-approved vaccine. This definition no longer requires a booster shot.

We encourage fans to download the free CLEAR app and utilize the health pass feature to securely add their proof of vaccination.

For more information, check out our comprehensive Fan Safety Guide.

Mask Compliance
In accordance with the City of San Francisco’s most recent mask mandate, Chase Center no longer requires guests who are vaccinated to wear masks at events. Fans ages 2 and older who are not vaccinated are required to wear a mask at Chase Center events at all times, except when actively eating or drinking.

Masks are optional for children under 24 months.

The 2022 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship is a MOBILE TICKETS ONLY event. Using your phone's web browser, all mobile tickets can be accessed through the NCAA mobile sign in at NCAA.com/AccountManager.

Pro Tips:

Suggested Uber Hack
Taking Uber to the show? When you’re ready to request your Uber, simply enter “Chase Center” as your destination. Chase Center’s official drop-off and pick-up location is located along Terry Francois Boulevard. The Uber app will show you the best places to get picked up, but with so many people using ride share options after an event, we suggest walking toward the 4th and King Caltrain station to make it easier to get an Uber. If you are new to Uber, choose one of Uber’s new user promo codes for discounted rides.

Fan Fest
We’re celebrating this milestone with an immersive fan experience where fans can celebrate March Madness in Thrive City, our outdoor plaza. Enjoy live entertainment, games, crafting stations, seating lounges, live commemorative art, and photo opportunities. Plus, experience our outdoor court, designed for fans to run drills and win exclusive prizes with our 3-point contest, free-throw contest, and more! This event starts at 2 p.m. on Thursday!

Also, Take a walk around Chase Center and check out Thrive City. Grab some food at the newly opened Gott's Roadside before the show or get a pre-concert beer from Harmonic Brewing. Soak in Bay views on the Esplanade and take a pic at the Olafur Eliasson’s Seeing spheres art installation outside of the East Entrance on Terry Francois Boulevard at 16th Street.

Cash-to-Card Kiosks
Five Cash-to-Card kiosks will allow guests to convert cash into a pre-paid, open-loop debit card to enable a fully-contactless experience at Chase Center. The cards will be accepted anywhere that guests would otherwise use a debit card, including at all Chase Center eateries, all Warriors Shop locations, and the Chase Center Box Office. Fans can also upload their pre-paid open-loop debit cards to the Warriors + Chase Center app for use within the venue.

Cash-to-Card Kiosk Locations: Main Concourse (Portal 10 and 22), Upper Concourse (Portal 46 and 55) and by the Chase Center Box Office.

Pack Light
Leave the bag at home if possible and expedite your trip through security lines. All bags will be screened prior to entry into Chase Center. Backpacks of any size and all bags exceeding 14"x6"x14" are prohibited. However, if you do bring a bag, note that a bag check is available on the exterior of Chase Center on Warriors Way.
