Enjoy special offers from Thrive City retailers and enter to win prizes by completing your First Friday passport by getting stamps at our participating locations! RSVP while supplies last.

Although this event is free, we highly encourage you to donate an unwrapped new or gently used toy to the Mission Food Hub. They will have a table on-site during the event where you can drop off your unwrapped donation! We are asking you to donate a gift wish you had growing up to the children of the families that they serve.

About the Mission Food Hub:

The Mission Food Hub, a project founded by the 501(c)3 nonprofit Cultura Y Arte Nativa de las Américas (CANA), collectively serves the community by procuring and distributing culturally-appropriate and nutritious food to ensure the well-being of families and individuals. Founded in March 2020 during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mission Food Hub started providing 500 families with one grocery bag a week. The number of people rapidly grew to 1,800 within a couple of weeks and at the peak of the pandemic we were serving 9,000 households weekly through our distribution site, community partners, and deliveries for seniors and COVID positive households.

While the world may have moved onto recovery, our community continues to be heavily impacted by food insecurity and economic hardship. Many of our clients are monolingual Spanish speakers and newcomer families who have not financially recovered from the pandemic work closures. Because of this, they cannot afford to give their children toys or gifts for the holidays.
